From the time he was in high school, Bill has been organizing fun. He comes from a line of people having fun. His great grand father helped build the first Farris Wheel at the Chicago World's Fair.
But, Bill's fun is SERIOUS fun -- it always has a purpose.
At the age of 17 he made a decision to enter ministry and turned down scholarships to prestigious universities to attend a small college that prepared people for ministry. There his professors labeled him as an Iconoclast. He is definitely an Iconoclast! He started in pastoral ministry but was led to accept a position as the director of a small Christian camp. If you know anything about camp directors, you know only the creative survive.
After the passing of his first wife he married Wendy who was a corporate trainer, and he wandered into a new world -- the world of professional coaches.
His aha moment came when he saw what they were doing with large budgets and fancy tools. He realized he had been doing that for years with no budget and adapted equipment. So he bought three Voyageur canoes and founded Wild Creek Adventures. His very first client was the world's largest privately owned company.
In the process he discovered the world of people living with disabilities and realized he could make a difference in their lives. He founded the nonprofit Removing the Barriers Initiative to enable him to use his talents to build programs and solve problems that would remove the barriers to great experiences for people and families living with disabilities.
Remember his great grandfather and the Farris Wheel? Well, Bill is the visionary and driver behind creating what may be the world's most disabilities inclusive aquatic experience, StirringWaters.
